“Geoff Abraham Band's music has a gritty swagger, that’s raw, real, and packed with soul. ”
The Geoff Abraham Band isn't trying to bring rock & roll back. They never stopped playing it.
Built around singer, songwriter and guitarist Geoff Abraham, GAB is a three-piece American rock & roll band fueled by big songs, loud guitars, swagger, soul and the kind of chemistry that only comes from musicians who have spent years playing together.
Over the past year, the band has been steadily building a following in New England and Florida, packing rooms, selling tickets and turning first-time listeners into repeat faces in the crowd. Rather than chasing trends, GAB has grown the old-fashioned way — one song, one show and one fan at a time.
The sound lands somewhere between the ragged swagger of The Rolling Stones and Faces, the soulful rock & roll of The Black Crowes, and the songwriting instincts of Tom Petty — familiar territory without becoming a throwback. At the center are Abraham's songs: direct, melodic, sometimes messy, sometimes funny, and built around the things people actually live through.
The band's debut album, Somewhere Between Then and Now, established GAB as far more than another chapter in Abraham's long musical history. Since its release, the band has continued writing and recording, with "Top of My Game" kicking off a new run of music and the beginning of the band's second record.
There is plenty of history behind GAB. Abraham came out of the Boston rock scene with his bands The Fighting Cocks and later Black Number Nine, which was signed to Red Sky Records and named Best Rock Band in Boston by Boston Magazine and nominated for a Boston Music Award. Along the way, Abraham has worked and performed with musicians including Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band, Benjamin Orr of The Cars, and guitarist/producer Stu Kimball, whose credits include Bob Dylan and Peter Wolf. Abraham's music has also appeared on Fox Sports, NCIS, NFL, American Idol, Big Brother, Heineken and more.
But those are credentials, not the story.
The story is what's happening now.
GAB has developed a real draw in its home markets, regularly bringing strong crowds to its shows. The next step is taking that audience on the road — expanding into new cities, landing support slots and building the same kind of following market by market.
And that's where the Geoff Abraham Band makes the most sense: onstage.
No tracks. No choreography. No manufactured rock-star bullshit. Just a Telecaster, bass, drums, songs and three musicians playing like the room matters.
Because for GAB, it does.
Every night.
